Air Compressors – The Next Do It Yourself Necessity!
I need to buy a what?! I heard myself say out loud one Thursday morning and I’m still shaking my head in disbelief up until lunch time. For someone who hates manual work, and therefore anything (other than baking) which gets my hands dirty, the thought of buying a “tool” was nerve wracking.
I didn’t know where to start. Blame it all on the fact that I busted that contraption which automatically inflates and deflates our spare airbed. My husband told me it would be cheaper and more practical to just buy an air compressor since that had multiple uses, and will come out a lot cheaper too. He even went on to say that air compressors would come in handy should I one day want to buy a inflatable pool for the baby to swim in.
Forgive me, but I grew up inflating beachballs and going to a shop to have basketballs and volleyballs inflated. But good soldier that I am, I headed out to the store to get us some air compressors – and it was not scary at all since I did it online!
The advantage of shopping for air compressors online is that you don’t experience the embarrassment of asking a clerk for something you absolutely have no idea about. Browsing through websites, I saw different kinds, types, makes, sizes and brands of air compressors and saw one that was just right for what my hubby and I need.
We needed something small, portable and did not need eat up a lot of energy. I settled for the 12v air compressor with a 1/6 horsepower engine. Small enough to fit in a carrying case, but tough enough to inflate the tires of a 4x 4 car. I can’t wait for my order to arrive so I can give myself a pat on the back for no longer being a Do It Yourself phobe.
